Jasleen Waraich is a renowned Indian landscape architect and urbanist, acclaimed for her work in creating sustainable and vibrant urban environments. She earned her degree in Architecture from Jadavpur Engineering College, Kolkata, and went on to complete a Master's in Landscape Architecture from the School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi, in 1992.
As the Founding Principal of JWLA (Jasleen Waraich Landscape Architecture), Jasleen has guided the firm to become one of India's leading landscape design practices. With over 30 years of experience, JWLA has played a pivotal role in shaping and preserving public spaces, championing sustainable urban living, and designing contextually responsive environments that balances ecological integrity with cultural perspectives.
Jasleen's design philosophy centers on creating "happy spaces" that promote health, well-being, and environmental sustainability-positively impacting communities across India.
Beyond her practice, Jasleen is deeply committed to education and has taught landscape architecture at several leading institutions in Delhi. During her four-year tenure as Honorary Secretary of the Indian Society of Landscape Architects (ISOLA), Delhi Region, she spearheaded numerous initiatives-including collaborative events with landscape architects, urban designers, and planners; workshops and student design competitions; as well as seminars and talks exploring the evolving perspectives of urban landscape design in India.
